A veterinary doctor attached to the Department of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services runs a clinic. There is an information centre on wild life in the Western Ghats. A children's park has been developed inside the safari.

Tavareekoppa Lion Safari is an ideal lion and tiger safari park established in 1988. It is located 10 km from Shimogga on the way to Sagar town. The safari is 200 hectares of forest with lions, tigers, cheetah, bear, deer and rare migratory birds enclosed in a very high fenced area, each kind of wild animals are is their own enclosures.
The forest department organizes regular recreation and sightseeing outings in their own mini bus, with forest officials escorting you & it is safe to tour the lion park , Photography is not allowed in this safari.
